Kathleen Boutin, Founder & Director

For more than a decade, Kathleen has worked in community and government relations. First at the helm of the Community Relations committee for GE Capital and she spent five years at the Clark County Health District overseeing volunteer services where she honed her skills in public, media, volunteer and donor relations as well as an expert fundraiser and grant writer. She has a bachelor of science degree in business management, and is certified in non-profit management & public speaking. Kathleen is a graduate of the 2003 leadership program of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. She currently volunteers her time and serving on the Advisory Board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson, and past Treasurer the Arts Council of Henderson. Kathleen was recently appointed to the SNRPC Committee on Homelessness and served two years as Chair of the Nevada Homeless Alliance.
Kathleen is a life-long resident of Henderson. She understands the needs of the populations
she advocates for, and often mentors young women who share similar life experiences. Over
the years, she has worked tirelessly on political issues that are close to her heart. In
fact, she is a registered lobbyist in Nevada which has afforded her the opportunity to
work on many social and community issues that have helped make southern Nevada a better
place to live. Recently she was reappointed as a citizen advisor acting as a liaison
between Henderson residents and the city council. Kathleen is a proud mother of a 14
year old son and 10 year old daughter. They enjoy road trips to southern Utah and the
central coast of California in their free time.

Matt Hirsch, Executive Director (Successor)

Matt brings to the Partnership over two decades of experience in public
policy, corporate management, community-based services and non-profit
management. Most recently, Matt served as Director of Operations for
Goodwill of Southern Nevada, where he provided leadership for the
organization's Logistics, Merchandise Processing and Retail Store
Operations. Prior to that, Matt held a management position at Morgan
Stanley's headquarters in New York City. Matt has earned a Masters Degree
from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a
Bachelors Degree from Brown University.
Matt moved to Las Vegas with his wife, Magda, in 2004 and is deeply
committed to building community in Southern Nevada. He has a passion for
leadership, public service and empowering those who need someone to believe
in them. In his free time, Matt enjoys traveling, hiking and canyoneering
throughout the Southwest.

Larry Lovelett, Director of Community Relations

Larry started working with homeless adolescents in 2001 as a volunteer at the
Sanctuary drop-in center. He has extensive experience in street
outreach, youth mentoring and volunteer management. He held positions of
President and Vice President of the Street Teens organization.
Larry has been a resident in Nevada for over nine years and is very active in the
business community where he has volunteered for different business
associations. Larry is the past President of the Summerlin chapter of Le Tip.
Larry has has two grown children, Greg 25 and Crystal 23. They all enjoy
deep sea fishing, gardening and reading.

Tiger Todd, Safe Place Instructor

A native of Las Vegas, Tiger Todd began working on solutions to homelessness in our valley in 1995. Since that time, he has taught over ten thousand homeless people his simplistic formulas for overcoming life's many challenges. He currently teaches three results-driven classes each week for the Catholic Charities Residential Work Program, including his Hero School. Tiger found another love as a teen communicator and has been in demand at area middle and elementary schools ever since. For the past five years, he has also been privileged to give presentations for The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, the Department of Family and Youth Services (Juvy), The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center for Excellence, the Clark County School District (PAYBAC), and the Mokae Foundation.
Discovering the natural fit with The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Tiger became the Safe Place school instructor in February, 2004. When not speaking, writing, facilitating, or cleaning up from a whirlwind schedule, Tiger spends his time singing, playing basketball, and mentoring.

Melissa Goodwin, Administrative Services Manager

Melissa Goodwin was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2003 she
graduated from Community College High School with Honors. She currently
attends the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she is working to obtain a
Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Her future educational goals include the
pursuit of a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Doctorate of Philosophy.
Melissa is the recent past Chairperson for the Nevada Governor's Youth
Advisory Council. She has participated in several panel discussions during
her tenure with NPHY, including "Prevention of Newborn HIV Infection in
Nevada" on World AIDS Day 2006 at UNLV and "Saying 'NO' in a Culture of
'YES'" at Area Health Education Center's 2007 Adolescent Sexual Health
Summit.
When Melissa is not working or attending classes, she may be found
volunteering her time with the Las Vegas Youth Volunteers or Camp Anytown
Las Vegas, traveling, or baking vegan cupcakes.

Jenna Johnson, HR Manager

Jenna Johnson is a life-long resident of North Las Vegas. She graduated from Brigham Young University this year with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Before working for NPHY Jenna worked at a treatment center for teenage girls. She is happily married and enjoys spending her free time with her husband watching sports. She is very active in her church and loves photography, politics and music.

Lorraine Ortiz, Management Analyst

Lorraine holds the new position of Management Analyst. Before joining
Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Lorraine was practicing her
management skills in a corporate setting and has been Corporate Secretary
for a Non-Profit Organization.
Lorraine obtained a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of
Science in Mathematics from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, the
Philippines. Lorraine recently moved to Henderson with her husband, daughter
and son and enjoys reading books, watching movies, cooking and traveling.

Courtney Broadbent, Case Manager

Courtney was born and raised in Las Vegas. She received her Bachelor's
Degree in Social Work from UNLV. Some of her previous experience includes
Working with children in protective custody. Program Coordinator and School
Liaison for the literacy program with the Henderson at-risk elementary
schools. She participated as part of a Differential Response team, which
provided resources, referrals, and monitoring of at-risk families. She has
also had the opportunity to work in several family resources centers that
assisted adults in obtaining and maintaining housing, as well as one family
resource center that specialized in adoptions.
When she is not working with the people of Las Vegas, she likes to
entertain the people of Las Vegas by spending her free time performing in
community theater. Courtney has performed all over the Las Vegas valley.
She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, whom she
cherishes greatly

Jeanette Robinson, Case Manager

Jeanette moved to Nevada shortly after graduating with her Bachelor's
degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University in 2004. She has
since become a licensed Social Worker in Nevada. Jeanette's passion is
working with youth. She has worked with Empowering, Inc., Camp Las Vegas
and Boys Hope Girls Hope of Nevada, where she was a Residential Counselor,
before joining the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
Jeanette tries to remain active through playing tennis and jogging with her
dogs. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends,
watching movies, and photography.

Jeremy Hynds, Case Manager

Jeremy Hynds was born and raised in Henderson, NV. He graduated from UNLV in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He also teaches tennis to all ages on the weekends. Jeremy came from the Clark County School District as a substitute teacher. His hobbies are playing tennis, real estate, playing the guitar, and being with loved ones.

Irelynn Klouda, Case Manager

Irelynn is a native Texan, but spent the majority of her youth in Las
Vegas. She received a bachelor's degree in Art, with a minor in Women's
Studies, from SOU in Ashland, Oregon. Some of her previous experience
includes: working with teen parents when she was an AmeriCorps member in
Portland, Oregon; facilitating outdoor ropes courses with at-risk youth at a
YMCA in Scotland; and residential counseling teenage boys at a group home in
Las Vegas. When she's not adapting to the daily challenges and rewards of
Case Managing at NPHY, Irelynn loves to travel, camp, go out to eat (as
she's not much of a cook), read, write, spend time with her favorite (and
only) nephew, and try to be a decent human being.

Leyla Kirkpatrick, Drop-In Center Administrative Assitant

Leyla is a recent transplant to Las Vegas, after getting a degree in
geology from New Mexico State University. While working at NPHY, she draws
on her background working with Girl Scouts, and other children's groups.
When she's not at work, Leyla enjoys hiking and exploring the desert, making
jewelry and knitting.

Chris Brooks, House Parent

Chris Brooks moved to Las Vegas at age 4, and shortly thereafter entered the
Nevada state foster care system. He exited from care at age 19. During his
youth, Chris experienced more than 35 placements in foster care. He brings
his experiences as a vehicle for making positive changes to the foster care
system in Nevada. Chris was recognized by Congressman Jon Porter for his
advocacy on behalf of Nevada's foster care community, and was one of the
guiding lights in the creation and passage of state legislation that
provided for the continued education and support of those children who
inhabit the state's foster care community. He served as the Vice President
of the National Foster Youth Advisory Council in Washington, D.C and is
currently a member of the Child Welfare League of America Public Policy
Committee. At age 23, Chris was the youngest person to graduate from the
Henderson Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. He is actively involved in
Toastmasters and spends his free time traveling across the state speaking to
various civic organizations about his experiences in the Nevada child
welfare system. Chris is a part-time college student and aspires to graduate
from the UNLV School of Law.

Callyce Carrol

Callyce Carroll is the drop-in center host. He moved to Las Vegas in 1991 from Inglewood, California. After living in Las Vegas for eleven years, he became a homeless youth. For four years Callyce was in and out of independent living programs, on the street, couch surfing and sleeping in his truck. In 2006 Callyce found the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and entered our independent living/transitional housing program. He successfully exited out and is now in his own stable living environment. Callyce is also an EMT and attending college. Callyce enjoys eating, sports and spending time with his little brother.

Jose Diaz, House Parent

Jose is a part of the street outreach response team, providing youth with 24 hour 7 day a week access from a Safe Place location to a stable living environment. He is also member of the Las Vegas Outreach team, venturing into the community in search of run-a-ways and homeless youth. In addition, he coordinates all community marketing and client street outreach activities for volunteers.
