Chairman
Assemblyman Marcus Conklin received a M.A. in Political Science from Midwestern State University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Redlands. His hobbies include reading, fly-fishing and swimming. Marcus is a founding board member for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and is also affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce and United Way.

Rick McGough
Vice-Chairman
Rick has been with Credit One Bank since 1995 when it commenced operations
in Las Vegas. He is the Senior Vice President of Portfolio Services which
handles all of the collection processes for the bank. In addition to his
Portfolio Services responsibilities, Rick is the Community Reinvestment
Officer for Credit One Bank where he is responsible for developing and
implementing the bank's charitable giving program within the local
community. Rick is a native of Las Vegas and is a graduate of the University
of Nevada Reno. He is active in the charitable community and has held or is
currently on the boards of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, YMCA,
HELP of Southern Nevada, Nevada Microenterprise Initiative and Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Southern Nevada. Rick is also a volunteer with the Las Vegas
Metropolitan Police Department's Search and Rescue Division.

Greg Esposito
Treasurer
As the business representative for Plumbers, Pipefitters & Service
Technicians Local Union 525, Greg Esposito serves as the director of
marketing and research. His top priorities include creating better methods
of internal communication for union members as well as supporting and
enhancing the organization's visibility and image in the community.
As a community leader, Greg currently sits on the Clark County Planning
Commission and is involved in Valley organizations such as the Nevada State
& Clark County Democratic Party Executive Board, Sergeant at Arms for
Southern Nevada Building and Construction Trades Council, and the Southern
Nevada Central Labor Council. Greg also attended Case Western Reserve
University.

Colin Seale
Secretary
Colin Seale is a Management Analyst II at Clark County's Department of
Family Services. After graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science from
Syracuse University, he taught middle school math in Washington D.C. as a
Teach for America Corps member. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, he moved to
Las Vegas in 2007 after receiving his Master's in Public Administration from
the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
Prior to serving as NPHY's Board Secretary, Colin served as the Board Youth
Advisor. Colin is active in the community as the Treasurer of the Las Vegas
Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators and Treasurer
of the Theta Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. A lover of the arts, he enjoys
playing piano and the guitar, and he teaches hip-hop dance classes at the
UNLV Student Wellness and Recreation Center.

Neil Durrant
General Counsel
Mr. Durrant practices primarily in general civil litigation including
commercial-business, construction, and real estate. Mr. Durrant's experience
includes the resolution of disputes in mediation, arbitration, and
litigation.Mr. Durrant's commercial-business and real estate practice
includes the litigation of contract disputes, landlord/tenant claims, and
collections. His experience in these areas extends to the representation of
clients with interests on Las Vegas Boulevard. Mr. Durrant's construction
practice includes the representation of developer, general contractor, and
subcontractor clients involved in all types of construction including
commercial, industrial, hotel, and casino. Mr. Durrant represents clients
during contract negotiation, payment disputes, lien claims, lien
foreclosure, design defect claims, contract disputes, delay claims, as well
as many other construction related issues.

Directors
James Campos
James Campos currently serves as the Director of Government Relations and
Renewable Energy Initiatives for the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) where
he is responsible for helping develop and facilitate CSN’s renewable energy
efforts institution-wide and perform duties concerning external relations.
Prior to joining CSN James Campos served on a temporary hire assignment as
an Administrator for the Workforce Solutions section of the Department of
Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR). Campos joined DETR after
serving two years as a state-wide Commissioner (2007-2009) of the Nevada
Consumer Affairs Division where he regulated 7 industries and enforced state
laws governing deceptive trade practices. Campos has also served in the
private sectors, working in such industries as publishing,
telecommunications, strategic business consulting, political consulting, and
as an adjunct business professor.
Campos has served on various boards and committees including the Southern
Nevada Investment Workforce Board (DETR), Nevada Development Authority
committees (Green Technology and Government Liaison committees), Nevada
Automotive Advisory Board, United Way’s Young Philanthropist Society and the
Latino Coalition Strategic Advisory committee (Washington D.C). Campos
founded and served as Chairman to the Nevada FightFraud Task Force
(2007-2009) while in his tenure as the Commissioner of Consumer Affairs.
Campos holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science degree from the
University of Maryland, a Master of Business Administration from the
University of Glasgow, Scotland, and an Executive Program Certificate from
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. While completing his
master degrees, Campos also studied at Corpus Christi College, University of
Oxford, England and also cultural studies in Barcelona, Spain.

Jan Cohen
Jan Cohen received a BA in Secondary Education, MA in English, JD. Jan has been practicing law for fifteen and a half years in Las Vegas, including litigation, administrative, commercial, utilities law. Formerly, she was a Child Advocate of Nevada as part of the Attorney General's Office, and part of the founding board of the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. Jan presently is a hearing officer and assistant general counsel of the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.

Franz Kallao
Franz Kallao is the Vice President of Hotel Operations for The Mirage. In this position, Franz oversees all elements of hotel operations for all 18 hotel departments, including the Entertainment Division and Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat.
Franz first began his career with The Mirage in 1989 at the Front Desk where he worked as a Guest Services Representative, and was soon promoted to Assistant Hotel Manager. His management qualities led him to the pre-opening team of Treasure Island in 1993 as Front Desk Manager.
Franz transferred to the Golden Nugget in 1995 as Front Office Manager, and was subsequently named Director of Hotel Operations there.
In 1999 Franz traveled to Biloxi, Mississippi, to assist in the opening of another MGM MIRAGE property, Beau Rivage. As a result of his success with this opening, he was named Director of Hotel Operations there, and held that title until his return to The Mirage in 2000 as Director of the Ticket Office and subsequently as Director of Hotel Operations.
Franz was named Vice President of Hotel Operations at The Mirage in November 2002. Since that time, his many accomplishments include overseeing the planning and execution of the remodel of 3000+ rooms and suites, the multi-million dollar renovation of the iconic Mirage Volcano, and the implementation of two new shows at The Mirage, Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles LOVE Show and the Terry Fator Show.
Franz is currently on the Board of Directors of the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association and is a supporter and past participant of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southern Nevada.

Scott Karosa
Scott is life-long Southern Nevada, former marine, and currently is the
Chairman and C.E.O. of Tri-Star Management, Inc. a 22-year old firm and one
of the largest independent Financial Services and Insurance firms in Nevada.
The firm also owns wholly owned subsidiaries involved in Real Estate,
Mortgage Lending, Investment Banking and Sports and Entertainment
Management. Scott is one of the largest land owners in the City of Henderson
and was named one of The Who’s Who Under 40 for building a multimillion
dollar corporation from the ground up. Scott shares similar life experiences
as the populations that we serve and is active in the Las Vegas Chamber of
Commerce and also volunteers his time for Make a Wish Foundation.

Chris Kemper
Chris Kemper is Director of Administration of Herbst Gaming and Terrible Herbst Oil Company. He joined Terrible Herbst in June of 1993. Chris attended Mesa Community College where he earned an AA degree in Fire Science. He also attained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Arizona State University.

Barb Kruger
A native of Topeka, Kansas, Barb earned her degree in secondary physical
education from Kansas State University in 1974 and later taught physical
education and health at a junior high school in Pittsburgh, Kansas.As the
career of her husband - basketball coach, Lon Kruger - moved forward, Barb
focused her efforts on raising the couple's two children, as well as
volunteering in the communities in which they lived. The Krugers moved to
Las Vegas in 2004 when Lon accepted the position of the head coach of the
UNLV men's basketball team. Barb's community involvement in Southern Nevada
has included serving on the Safe Nest Domestic Violence Shelter's Board of
Directors, as well as chairman for the Las Vegas Paradise Sertoma's
basketball clinic for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. She is also an
active board member of the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, is
involved with PEO and is a Sustaining member of Junior League.While in
Atlanta - when Lon was the head coach of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks - Barb
volunteered for My House, a transitional home for medically fragile infants.
She also served as the co-president for the Walton High Basketball Booster
Club as well as on the Board of the Walton High Foundation while their son,
Kevin, was a student at the school. Barb has also worked with organizations
such as: Cunningham Children's Home in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois; Junior
Leagues of Gainesville, Florida, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and Topeka,
Kansas; as well as the Flint Hills Junior Service League of Manhattan,
Kansas. Barb and Lon, have two children: daughter Angie, who is a practicing
obstetrician-gynecologist who lives in Miami with her husband, Mike; and son
Kevin, who graduated from Arizona State University and played at UNLV for
his senior season, starting at point guard in 2006-07 for his father's
squad. He is currently pursuing a professional basketball playing career.

Paula Lawrence
Paula is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and attended the prestigious MBA program at Pepperdine University. She is a member of ASIS Security association and past board member of the American Marketing Association. Paula has been a resident of Las Vegas for nine years and is the General Manager of an elite Private Security Agency. Paula and her two daughters are sports enthusiast who most recently are working on their golf game.

Tony Sanchez
Tony Sanchez Joined Sierra Pacific Resources as corporate senior vice president in August, 2007. He has served as associate legislative counsel handling energy and natural resource issues for Nevada's then-U.S. Senator Richard H. Bryan (1992-1995) in Washington, D.C. He was assistant general counsel for the Nevada Public Utilities Commission from 1995 to 1998 before becoming executive assistant to then-Nevada Governor Bob Miller. He joined Jones Vargas at the conclusion of Gov. Miller's term in 1999, where, before coming to Sierra Pacific Resources, he was a partner.
Sanchez is a 1988 graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a B.A. in Political Science, and received his law degree from Arizona State University in 1991.
Sanchez currently serves on the boards of the Latin Chamber of Commerce (president 2002-2004), Paramount Bank of Nevada (director), Nevada Partners, the Latino Bar Association, UNLV Alumni Association, the Nevada Tourism Alliance and Clark County Pro Bono Foundation. Sanchez and his wife, Elaine, reside in Las Vegas with their two children.

Laura Jane Spina
Laura Jane Spina, RID currently serves as the CEO of RAFI: Planning, Architecture and Urban Design and Fielden & Partners Interior Design. Her companies having celebrated over twenty years of success serving the public and private sectors of Las Vegas. Laura Jane is a proud graduate of UNR. Her passions are children, education and libraries. Although Laura finds herself spending many late nights running her two companies and tending to her many philanthropic activities she is a mother first and foremost. Laura Jane thanks her husband Lane, Parents Bob and Jane, and two sons Trevor and Kyle for all her success in life.

Donald L. Soderberg
Soderberg joined Southwest in November 2008 as Vice President/External Affairs to serve as central liaison with several departments that interface with regulators and legislators, as well as other government officials and business partners. Effective October 2009 in his new position as Vice President/Pricing, he is responsible for the Pricing and Tariffs, Revenue Requirements, and Federal Regulatory Affairs Departments.
Prior to joining Southwest, Soderberg was Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada and also served on the state’s Transportation Services Authority. In his role as PUC chairman, he reorganized the agency for greater efficiency and focus, and became a strong advocate for utilities’ use of more balanced resource portfolios, including an increase in the use of renewable energy. Most recently, he worked in Government Public Affairs at R&R Partners in Las Vegas. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (and interning for Senator Paul Laxalt in Washington, D.C.), he obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. Soon after, he joined the Nevada firm of Lionel, Sawyer & Collins. His legal expertise is in environmental and regulatory law.

Kelly Woods
Kelly comes to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth from The Clark County Department of Parks and Community Services. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She is a nine year employee of Clark County where she serves as the Program Supervisor for their mobile outreach recreation programs. Currently, Kelly is a member of the Nevada Recreation and Park Society, The Southern Nevada Gang Task Force Committee, and the O.N.E. Neighborhood Community Collaborative. She has also served as a past board member of the Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada. Professionally, Kelly continues to pursue graduate studies and participate in efforts which promote positive choices for Southern Nevada youth. Personally, the former Physical Education Teacher and coach considers herself an advocate for youth and an avid "hoops" fan.
